2018.12.04 23:07 Fantastic_Drummer Are personal data and support information safe within support and the Guides of the Lotus/moderators?
I am writing to you to inform that some of the Polish players who have been appointed as Guides of the Lotus have been spreading the outcomes of some tickets to third parties before the requestors were able to receive the answer despite the fact that these Guides had agreed to non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Please be advised that these actions had an impact on real persons. These people are in charge of the largest non-profit community which is gathering Polish players and providing the top-notch tips and guides for both new and experienced players. They spend nights translating build and patch notes.
According to GDPR, their in-game alias may be subject to personal data as well as per below:
"Personal data that has been de-identified, encrypted or pseudonymised but can be used to re-identify a person remains personal data and falls within the scope of the law."
As per above these people were identified through the Polish community Facebook group - "Warframe Polska!". They are thriving to achieve their goals such as building the largest Polish community to connect Polish players.
An information about the ticket and the reason for putting a hold on their account (ban) had leaked through the Guides to either their clan mates or other third parties. Despite that fact they are not able to receive justification as your "End User Licence Agreement" gives you the right to not provide more details than just a general explanation.
Violation of NDA caused these people to receive messages on Facebook from another players saying for example: "Congratulations for getting banned!". The actions done by the Guides are putting them as offenders in that matter.
I will not disclose the in-game aliases of the people who were offended at this very moment to protect them from any possible additional harrasment This message is to point out that there are people who cannot be trusted within the group of the Guides of the Lotus.
Also please be advised that there was one Guide of the Lotus who was kept away from the ticket outcome as he is the member of the clan where these offended people are.
Please do not take this message as a threatening one. I just wanted to notify you about the case as I am just processing the thoughts, opinions, information and the actual state of the offended.
Could you advise how these players (Guides) received this information?
Thank you for your ticket. We take reports of this nature very seriously, and will consider the provided information.
Please be aware that Guides of the Lotus are volunteers who steer players along their Warframe journey, and do not receive any information concerning other players. Any misdeeds on third-party channels should not be taken as reliable sources of information and are best avoided.
Thank you for caring about our community.
I assume that if these people received the same response to their tickets as the messages from other users/players on Facebook were a false information as well? It left me confused a bit right now.
How is it possible that these users are not able to receive the justification in regards to in-game trades as you are keeping logs only from 2 weeks ago, yet the case was proven 2 years ago? Where is the proof? Assumption? What will you do if I will create a fake eBay offer with some other player's nickname that he is selling some items/platinum for cash just for you to ban that person?
Please see below link for more info:
By the above the personal data in this case is an in-game alias which is being known to other players from the Facebook group.
Lets analyse the following situation. A player had received messages from various people saying that they "Congratulate" them for having permanent hold on their account for "illegally selling platinum" before the same response was posted to him/her. It is considered a leak, more precisely data security breach, am I right?
Will you process the proofs if they will provide you a screenshots both from support (with exact date and time) and Facebook messages (with blurred surnames and photos)? This then will not be considered a personal data.
If they provided the proofs for review purposes, automatically giving the consent to process them, why did you decline to proceed?
Based on the information you've provided so far, the best action moving forward would be to have the owner of the account in question send us a ticket. Providing we did not consider the matter closed, we may be able to continue.
Thank you for all your help, and for looking out for your fellow Tenno.
Is there any point of sending tickets, as each of them is automatically closed right after the submission from these particular accounts? I do not think so, but I do hope it is not being done intentionally because of other connections. These people deserve to show the proofs that may result in removing the hold from their accounts. Otherwise I would not call that a support towards the community.
That is unfortunate,
Not sure what other advice to give you. As mentioned prior, we only discuss private matters with individuals who are original account owners. Since there is no additional details we can share with you, we will be closing and filing this ticket for future reference should we need any of the provided information.
Stay true to the Tenno cause.
Could you please investigate the leakage of the ticket data to the Guides and moderators?
I am quite sure that there are many circumstances these people can file a lawsuit against the Guides and mods, provided a legal claim may be issued to Digital Extremes to provide necessary data of the people involved in the case.
They are being harassed over Facebook with messages and one Facebook page which is causing them a strong defamation at this very moment.
One of them tried to report it to the police already, but was directed to civil court what is during the consideration right now.
Could you advise if they still can issue a ticket with all of the proofs and provide it will not be closed automatically please?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
